I've been a member of the Sony Alpha Female community since 2019 and have drawn so much inspiration from the talent of so many incredible fellow women Sony photographers. Tay-Tay's tease of her upcoming album "Life of a Showgirl" inspired me to put on some sequins and take some creative self-portraits. When creative bursts of energy come knocking at 9pm on a Sunday, you gotta answer... I've included the full series of my favorite shots in my portfolio, but wanted to also share the behind-the-scenes! It's definitely do-able (albeit there might be some squeezing & ducking to get into your space!) to create fun portraits and art in small rooms.

This afternoon's shoot had me reminiscing about the very first movie I ever saw in theaters as a kid - the iconic Jurassic Park. I'm also not ashamed to admit that the theme song is my ringtone... Friday I attended another shoot coordinated by Cobalt Studios! We all met at Rooster Rock in the Gorge (the nearest town is Corbett) and chatted for a few minutes as a group before getting right to work. Last night I attended a collaborative shoot presented by Capture Collective PNW, ProPhoto Supply, and hosted by @sloane.shots, @asherrainphotography and @codyketonphotography (all Instagram handles) at Infinity Point Studios in Vancouver, Washington. Using random small items from my house and office, I put together a quirky set titled, "Catnip Fever Dream." Two small triceratops, a miniature disco ball plant grinder, a large rainbow disco heart, the cactus and skull salt & pepper shakers from my kitchen table, glitter flecks and a sprinkling of catnip to bribe my fur-baby models, Sprinkle and Tuba. I used a 3 light set up - a 25" beauty dish as my main light (on low-ish power so as to not overpower the side lights' gels)

Over the years, I've found myself on numerous occasions (what I mean is too many to count) with this insatiable, restless desire to shoot in only dramatic, expansive, remote, inaccessible and enviously scenic places.
